im-config software package provides Input method configuration framework, you can install in your Ubuntu 16.04 LTS (Xenial Xerus) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install im-config
im-config is installed in your system.
Make ensure the im-config package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep im-config *
You will get with im-config package name, version, architecture and description in a table
